Role Overview: As a Financial Crimes Compliance EDD Associate, you’ll play a key role in ensuring Coinbase remains the most trusted exchange. You’ll perform enhanced due diligence on high-risk accounts, serve as a compliance escalation point for clients and support teams, and collaborate on compliance projects. You will contribute to maintaining our KYC standards and working cross-functionally to improve processes.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct enhanced due diligence for high-risk retail customer accounts.
• Serve as an advisory and escalation point for compliance inquiries.
• Support the remediation of existing accounts to ensure compliance with KYC requirements.
• Collaborate on compliance projects, updating policies and procedures.
• Participate in client calls regarding onboarding and enhanced due diligence.
• Work with Internal Audit and Compliance teams to ensure adherence to controls and procedures.

What We’re Looking For:

• Strong knowledge of AML laws, regulations, and guidelines (e.g., BSA, 5MLD).
• At least 4 years of experience in compliance or investigations within financial services or fintech.
• Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal).
• Proficiency with G Suite, Excel, and Word.
• Ability to adapt in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
• Highly organized with keen attention to detail.
• Alignment with Coinbase’s mission and values.

Nice to Have:

• Anti-Money Laundering Specialist Certification.
• Experience with SQL and Looker.
• Familiarity with cryptocurrency products or experience in the digital currency industry.
