As an Investigation Analyst, you will tackle sensitive, high-risk cases and play a critical role in maintaining our integrity.

What You’ll Do

• Conduct in-depth investigations leveraging blockchain analytics and financial crime expertise to support Coinbase’s BSA/AML program.
• Review complex cases involving fraud, money laundering, terror financing, human trafficking, PEPs, and high-profile individuals.
• Prepare and file Suspicious Activity Reports (SARs) and conduct Continuing Activity Reviews (CARs).
• Apply investigatory techniques to ambiguous cases, producing actionable analysis for regulatory compliance.
• Analyze KYC information, conduct open-source research, and request enhanced due diligence (EDD) and sanctions advisory reviews.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to maintain high standards of documentation and compliance.

What We’re Looking For

• Education: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent.
• Experience: 3-5 years in AML investigations and SAR preparation.
• Strong knowledge of financial products and services across the industry.
• Exceptional written communication and research skills.
• Ability to handle confidential information and interact with senior and executive management.
• Proficiency in engaging with regulatory agencies, law enforcement, and external auditors.

Nice-to-Have Skills

• Experience in cryptocurrency or blockchain investigations.
• CAMS, CFE, or CFCS certification.
• Certifications from Chainalysis, TRM Labs, or Elliptic.
• Familiarity with SQL and tools like Looker, SuperSet, or Snowflake.
