The Compliance Technology - KYC Team plays a pivotal role in achieving our mission. We develop and maintain sophisticated systems to meet global BSA/AML regulations and industry best practices. Our focus includes KYC technology, customer risk rating models, and compliance reports and dashboards.
What You’ll Do
- Develop and enhance AML/KYC Customer Risk Scoring models and services.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams across Coinbase products and services.
- Continuously test, validate, and improve model performance.
- Write efficient, reusable SQL for data manipulation and analysis.
- Manage high-priority projects to advance Coinbase’s compliance programs.
- Investigate issues, resolve bugs, and implement enhancements requested by stakeholders.
- Create clear documentation for regulators and external reviewers.
- Design and build self-service dashboards and reports using data visualization tools.
- Maintain project codebases via GitHub.
What We’re Looking For
- Experience: 2+ years in data analytics or systems engineering within technology, consulting, financial institutions, or fintech.
- Skills: Strong SQL proficiency, analytical mindset, and experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Looker, Tableau).
- Knowledge: Familiarity with BSA/AML compliance, KYC, and customer risk rating processes.
- Technical Proficiency: Golang development experience is a plus.
- Communication: Clear verbal and written communication, including creating formal documentation.
- Adaptability: Thrives in fast-paced environments, with startup or high-growth experience as a bonus.
- Passion: Eager to learn about crypto and contribute to innovative solutions.
Nice-to-Have Skills
- Experience with model validation and regulatory examinations.
- Understanding of AML/KYC regulations and controls.
- Prior development experience in financial crimes or compliance technologies.

Pay Range: $127,075 - $149,500 USD annually (dependent on location).
