About the Role: Compliance Technology - KYC
The Compliance Technology team at Coinbase is pivotal in ensuring we meet global BSA/AML regulations while setting industry benchmarks. Within the KYC team, you’ll develop technologies and tools to support compliance processes, from customer risk scoring models to dashboards and reports for internal and external stakeholders.
What You’ll Do:
- Build and enhance AML/KYC Customer Risk Scoring models and services.
- Collaborate across teams to optimize product and compliance engineering.
- Diagnose, validate, and improve model performance through continuous testing.
- Write efficient SQL to analyze and manipulate data for compliance programs.
- Manage multiple high-priority projects and deliver innovative solutions.
- Investigate issues, resolve bugs, and implement user-requested enhancements.
- Design self-service dashboards and reports with data visualization tools.
- Maintain clear documentation for regulatory and external reviews.
What We’re Looking For:
- Experience: 2+ years in data analytics or systems engineering in tech, finance, or fintech.
- Technical Skills: Proficient in SQL and data analysis; experience in Golang-based models.
- Compliance Knowledge: Familiarity with AML/KYC regulations, transaction monitoring, and risk rating technologies.
- Communication: Strong verbal and written communication, including formal documentation.
- Mindset: Adaptability to a fast-paced environment and interest in learning about crypto.
Bonus Skills:
- Experience with regulatory examinations or model validations.
- Knowledge of tools like Looker, Superset, or Tableau.
- Development experience in financial crimes or compliance systems.
