The Role
We’re seeking a Director, Trading Engineering to lead the development of high-quality, maintainable software solutions in an agile environment. This hands-on role involves coding, designing, and implementing trading technology solutions for Fidelity Digital Assets℠. Key responsibilities include:

• Building high-performance, low-latency trading systems.
• Developing algorithms for crypto trading.
• Collaborating with stakeholders on business-critical initiatives.
• Designing APIs, distributed systems, and resilient messaging services.
• Mentoring team members and setting technical direction.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field.
• 12+ years in software engineering with expertise in low-latency trading systems.
• Proficiency in modern Java, WebSocket/FIX protocols, SQL, and microservice architecture.
• Experience with kernel bypass, messaging products (Aeron, Solace), and cloud-based deployments.
• Strong understanding of crypto markets, trading platforms, and Agile methodologies.

Compensation
Base salary: $103,000-$218,000/year (based on experience, location, and other factors). Additional compensation includes bonuses or variable pay based on eligibility.
