Security Engineering:
Oversee the design, implementation, and maintenance of security measures across the organization’s infrastructure and applications.
Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
Conduct regular security assessments, vulnerability testing, and threat modeling to identify and mitigate risks.
Develop and maintain security policies, procedures, and best practices.
Site Reliability Engineering:
Manage the reliability, availability, and performance of the company’s services and infrastructure.
Implement and maintain monitoring, alerting, and incident response processes.
Optimize system performance and automate repetitive tasks to improve efficiency.
Drive continuous improvement in operational processes and engineering practices to enhance system reliability.
Collaboration and Communication:
Collaborate with other engineering teams, product managers, and stakeholders to ensure security and reliability requirements are integrated into all stages of the development lifecycle.
Communicate effectively with senior management and other departments, providing regular updates on security and reliability initiatives and performance.
Advocate for security and reliability best practices throughout the organization.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
7+ years of experience in security engineering and/or site reliability engineering, with at least 3 years in a leadership or management role.
Strong understanding of security principles, practices, and technologies, including encryption, authentication, access control, and network security.
Proven experience with reliability engineering practices such as monitoring, alerting, incident response, and performance tuning.
Proficiency in scripting and automation tools, such as Python, Bash, Ansible, or Terraform.
Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and container orchestration systems (Kubernetes, Docker).
Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and inspire teams.
Preferred Qualifications
Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CISM, or SANS GIAC.
Experience with DevOps practices and tools, such as CI/CD pipelines, GitOps, and infrastructure as code.
Knowledge of compliance frameworks such as GDPR, HIPAA, or SOC 2.
