We’re seeking a Money Laundering Reporting Officer (MLRO) for Latin America to lead anti-money laundering (AML) and sanctions compliance for the Brazil and Argentina markets. What You’ll Do

  • Ensure compliance with Latin America AML regulations, identifying requirements and implementing them effectively.
  • Stay ahead of regulatory developments and collaborate with internal teams to adapt and maintain compliance.
  • Provide updates to senior management and boards on compliance programs and escalate critical incidents.
  • Handle regulatory communications and manage notifications or comment letters.
  • Oversee risk assessments to maintain robust systems and controls for financial crimes compliance.
  • Update policies to align with regulatory and business changes.
  • Deploy compliance training for local employees and ensure timely remediation of audit findings.
  • Partner with compliance and product teams to integrate regulatory obligations into new initiatives.
  • Foster relationships with internal stakeholders and promote a unified control environment.

What You Bring

  • 8+ years of compliance experience, including senior leadership roles.
  • In-depth knowledge of financial services and AML regulations in Argentina and Brazil, with experience working with UFI and/or Brazil’s Central Bank.
  • Proven ability to independently manage Financial Crimes Compliance Programs, audits, and exams.
  • Experience developing compliance programs from scratch and collaborating with global teams.
  • Exceptional communication skills, with fluency in Portuguese and professional proficiency in English.
  • A collaborative mindset to engage with diverse stakeholders, from senior management to external regulators.

Nice-to-Haves

  • Professional compliance or financial qualifications (e.g., ACAMS).
  • Spanish fluency.
  • Experience in crypto or fintech.
  • Management experience in a matrixed, global environment.
