This is a 12-week internship with our Security Advisory Services (SAS) team, focused on ensuring the security and integrity of Coinbase's infrastructure and applications.

Responsibilities:

• Support penetration testing on web applications, APIs, Web3 (DApps, NFTs), and cloud infrastructure (AWS).
• Assist in developing frameworks and tools for security assessments.
• Contribute to scoping assessments, test environment setup, and vulnerability remediation.
• Support the public Bug Bounty program, including tiered support, documentation, risk ranking, and on-call rotation.

Requirements:

• Programming experience in Ruby, Golang, JavaScript, or Python (for automation tasks).
• Exposure to risk and threat modeling (e.g., STRIDE).
• Web application security experience (source code audit, penetration testing, code reviews).
• Experience automating manual processes (e.g., Python, Selenium).
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills on security topics.

Nice to Haves:

• Pursuing a degree or certificate in a related field.
• Experience in high-security or regulated industries (e.g., PCI, SOC, NIST).
• Experience with applied cryptography, exploit development, or Web3/crypto auditing.
• Contributions to open-source security tools.
