As part of the Security team, you'll support Coinbase’s Institutional business by managing security operations for our German entity, ensuring compliance with BaFIN regulations, and collaborating with product and technical teams to design secure product features. You will focus on IT system security, identity access management, SIEM log collection, and security risk management.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage the Information Security program for Coinbase’s German entity, ensuring compliance with BaFIN regulations.
• Oversee core security processes, including IT system assets and identity access management.
• Handle SIEM log collection and rationalization, ensuring protocols are followed.
• Monitor IT security projects, focusing on local roles, privileged access, and identity management.
• Assist with User Access Review (UAR) to ensure security compliance.
• Manage and track CBG Security Risk Reviews.
• Analyze security product data to evaluate effectiveness and identify improvement opportunities.
• Contribute to policy and risk management documentation.
• Implement regulatory requirements as the business expands.

Qualifications:

• Expertise in operational process design, particularly in regulated environments like BaFIN.
• Experience in IT security, with a focus on local system controls and identity access management.
• Knowledge of SIEM log collection, access management, and privileged access controls.
• Strong data evaluation skills, with experience reporting to executives.
• Ability to align technical and non-technical stakeholders on security responsibilities.
• Continuous learning mindset and adaptability to emerging threats.
• Technical understanding of backend engineering and IT security projects.
• Experience with SQL (Snowflake preferred).
