Senior Data Scientist (Applied ML)- Coinbase

Role Overview:
As an Applied Scientist within the Data Science organization, you will develop cutting-edge models to address key business challenges across Growth, Customer Experience, and Engineering Infrastructure teams.

Responsibilities:

• Provide technical mentorship to Data Science teams.
• Build models to evaluate and mitigate negative platform experiences.
• Develop advanced experimentation techniques, such as multi-armed bandits.
• Create sequential features from user behavior data to identify customer issues and prevent malicious activities.

Requirements:

• PhD or Master’s degree in Math, CS, Statistics, or a related field with 5+ years of experience.
• Expertise in designing and deploying scalable ML models.
• Strong knowledge of causal inference methods.
• Proven ability to lead and raise technical standards in a data science organization.
• Alignment with Coinbase values: clear communication, positive energy, continuous learning, and efficient execution.

Preferred:

• Experience in Growth or Customer Experience teams.
• Familiarity with crypto and blockchain data challenges.

Details:

• Location: Remote (#LI-Remote)
• Salary Range: $175,100–$206,000 USD (includes target bonus, equity, and benefits).
