Senior Data Scientist (Pricing) - Coinbase

Role Overview:
We are seeking a Staff Data Scientist to lead pricing experimentation for our Retail Trading Team. You will drive strategic pricing decisions through experimentation, causal modeling, and data analysis, contributing directly to our business outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop pricing strategies and roadmaps.
• Design and evaluate pricing models to optimize fees and engagement.
• Use experiments and observational data to isolate the impact of fee changes.
• Build and maintain data pipelines and models with precision.
• Present findings and recommendations to senior leadership clearly and concisely.

Qualifications:

• Master’s or PhD in Economics, Statistics, or related field.
• 5+ years of experience in pricing experimentation, statistical modeling, and data analysis.
• Proficiency in SQL, Python, R, or similar tools.
• Proven track record of managing large, cross-functional analytical projects.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to simplify complex data for non-technical stakeholders.
• Attention to detail and ability to work under tight deadlines.

Preferred:

• Experience with causal inference techniques and crypto-related companies.

Pay Transparency:
Annual salary ranges from $175,100 to $206,000 USD, with bonus, equity, and comprehensive benefits included.
