Role Overview:
As part of our team, you’ll develop and advocate policy positions on regulating consumer digital asset products, particularly digital assets for payments. You’ll work on cross-functional teams to navigate emergent regulatory challenges, influence industry consensus, and engage with regulators globally.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with product, legal, and policy teams to define internal regulatory positions.
- Brief executives on regulatory impacts and solutions.
- Represent Coinbase in trade groups to shape industry-wide approaches.
- Draft high-quality materials for regulatory consultations and engagements.
- Lead external meetings with regulators and standard setters.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree (required); advanced degree in law, economics, or finance (preferred).
- 6+ years in financial services regulation.
- Experience responding to regulatory consultations or working with financial authorities.
- Deep knowledge of blockchain, payment systems, stablecoins, AML/KYC, and transaction settlement.
- Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and communicate complex ideas effectively.
Preferred Experience:
- Regulatory economist or attorney advisor at a financial authority or standard-setting body.
Compensation:
- Target salary: $245,225–$288,500 annually (varies by location), plus bonus, equity, and benefits.
