About Coinbase Design 

The Coinbase Design team is a close-knit group of designers and researchers collaborating with Product and Engineering to create seamless and intuitive experiences. We solve intricate user experience challenges, helping to shape Coinbase's flagship products and define new features for a fast-evolving crypto ecosystem.

Role: Design Lead - Institutional Products 

We’re seeking an experienced leader to guide the design for our Institutional product group, which includes Coinbase Prime & Exchange. This team develops secure, comprehensive solutions that empower institutions to participate in the crypto economy through trading, lending, and asset custody.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and mentor a team of Product Designers.
• Identify improvements, make decisions at all project stages, and align resources effectively.
• Drive cross-functional collaboration to shape product vision and strategy.
• Implement design processes and document project workflows.

Qualifications:

• 9+ years in design leadership, including team management and mentorship.
• Expertise in UX, visual design, and collaborative work environments.
• Proficiency in Figma and prototyping tools.
• Strong communication skills and a low-ego, open-minded approach.
• Experience simplifying complex issues for user-friendly designs.

Preferred Qualifications:

• FinTech design background.
• Familiarity with crypto and on-chain activities like using dApps or blockchain services.

Pay Transparency Notice: Estimated salary range is $275,825 - $324,500 USD. Full-time offers include target bonus, equity, and benefits. Actual compensation will be discussed during the hiring process.
