Finance and Operations Lead - Monad

Monad Labs is building Monad, a high-performance EVM Layer-1 blockchain. We are a team of engineers and community builders aiming to drive the growth of crypto. After securing Series A funding led by Paradigm, we are expanding our team.

Role Overview
We seek a Finance and Operations Lead to manage Monad Labs' financial health and operational efficiency, helping us achieve operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

• Advise senior leaders on strategy, growth, and revenue opportunities.
• Oversee internal financial operations, ensuring compliance and efficiency.
• Build and maintain operational models aligned with strategic plans.
• Manage company operations, including workplace, administrative tasks, and IT.
• Interface with external vendors for procurement and contract negotiations.
• Lead month-end and year-end processes, ensuring accuracy in financial reporting.
• Analyze financial results, provide insights, and track performance vs. budget.
• Optimize cash flow by managing accounts payable, receivable, payroll, and purchasing.
• Collaborate with legal and engineering teams to maintain high operational standards.
• Identify process improvements, and develop systems and procedures for optimization.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in finance and operations, preferably in high-growth tech or startups.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
• Experience in building operational budgets and managing performance.
• Ability to manage operations flexibly across a variety of tasks.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Proven track record in financial audits, tax filings, and budget management.
• Experience in cross-functional collaboration with teams like Legal, People, and Recruiting.
• Proficiency in Excel/Google Sheets and accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle).
• Treasury management experience is a plus.
• Degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business Administration is preferred.

Compensation & Benefits

• Salary: $165,000 minimum for full-time roles (final offer may vary).

• Location: Hybrid role (3 days/week in-office) based in NoMad, Manhattan, NYC.
