Salary: $150,000 USD + equity

Role Overview:
Source is looking for Protocol Engineers to join our team and help shape the future of data management. Working closely with our CTO and co-founders, you’ll contribute to building distributed systems that support secure, scalable, and interoperable data solutions for edge and local-first environments.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and optimize protocol data structures, cryptographic algorithms, and peer-to-peer communication.
• Design, build, and implement protocol packages and interfaces for our database team.
• Collaborate on system architecture and align technical specifications with business needs.
• Conduct code reviews, assist with testing, and support the engineering team.
• Drive the growth of SourceHub, our open-source developer ecosystem, focusing on trust and security.

Qualifications:

• Strong leadership and engineering expertise.
• Experience with CometBFT, Cosmos-SDK, and peer-to-peer networking.
• Proficient in Golang and/or Rust, with experience in writing production-level code.
• Background in fault-tolerant consensus protocols (e.g., PBFT, Raft) and scalable network protocol design.
• 5+ years of relevant experience in distributed systems.
