About the Role: As a Data Platform Engineer, you’ll design, build, and operate systems that centralize data from internal and external sources, making it accessible across Coinbase for analytics, machine learning, and other applications. Your responsibilities will include:

• Developing foundational data services (cloud storage, batch/stream processing, etc.)
• Building data integration SDKs and self-service applications for internal use
• Ensuring end-to-end data security and observability
• Translating functional requests into scalable patterns and microservices

Requirements:

• 5+ years in software engineering with strong skills in Python, Go, or Java
• Experience in data systems or pipelines; proficiency in SQL, Python, and Airflow
• Familiarity with design patterns (e.g., caching, scale-out)

Preferred:

• Knowledge of crypto/onchain activities like Ethereum interactions or dApps

Salary Range: $180,625—$212,500 USD (plus bonus & benefits)
