Senior Software Engineer, Smart Contract (Developer - Onchain Payments)

We need a full-stack engineer who thrives on creating seamless developer experiences through top-tier APIs, SDKs, and documentation, and who’s comfortable working across frontend and backend. As part of the Coinbase Developer Platform (CDP) API team, you’ll design, develop, and maintain scalable, secure systems that make crypto accessible to all.

What you’ll do:

• Build and maintain backend systems for CDP APIs (Go, JavaScript)
• Define and refine REST API standards (OpenAPI)
• Develop SDKs in multiple languages (Ruby, Typescript, Go, Python, Java)
• Create clear documentation and how-to guides
• Develop secure key management systems for wallet functionality
• Collaborate with Coinbase teams to integrate backend services
• Gather and incorporate customer feedback for API and SDK improvements

What we’re looking for:

• 5+ years in backend and frontend development
• Expertise in Go and JavaScript; knowledge of Ruby, TypeScript, Python, Java a plus
• Strong understanding of crypto wallets, blockchain protocols, and secure coding
• Experience with distributed systems, RESTful API design, and AWS/Kubernetes
• Crypto-forward experience and familiarity with blockchain-based services

Pay Range: $180,625—$212,500 USD, plus equity and benefits.
