Role Overview: As an engineer in the Platform Product Group, you’ll help build Coinbase’s foundational identity and regulatory platform, ensuring secure, compliant access across our products. You’ll architect and develop this critical platform, mentor peers, and work closely with stakeholders to define strategic roadmaps. In this hands-on role, you’ll drive our vision forward while maintaining a collaborative, inclusive environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and architect identity and regulatory platforms
• Set technical direction and work with management to outline project roadmaps
• Manage project timelines and mentor team members on design and coding standards
• Write high-quality, tested code and contribute directly to coding efforts
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to turn strategic vision into quarterly roadmaps
• Engage with upstream teams to ensure data quality and availability

Qualifications:

• 10+ years in software engineering; 4+ years with big data systems like Apache Spark and Hive
• Experience mentoring junior engineers and fostering a high-quality coding environment
• Passionate about creating an open, connected financial system
• Nice to have: experience with Golang, gRPC, Docker, SQL, and working with finance teams
