Coinbase Accessibility Engineer Position

About Developer Experience (DevX): The DevX team supports engineers by providing tools, frameworks, and infrastructure to build high-quality, engaging products. The UI Systems guild focuses on a design system to help engineers create consistent, accessible, and user-friendly UIs.
Role Responsibilities:
- Enhance and develop tools to improve accessibility across products, focusing on usability.
- Expand dashboards and metrics to provide clear insights into accessibility status.
- Build accessible components within our design system.
- Support cross-functional product teams to meet accessibility goals.
Key Duties:
- Design and maintain scalable backend services in Golang.
- Collaborate on product and technical roadmaps with engineers, designers, and product managers.
- Write well-tested, high-quality code for customer needs.
- Increase accessibility visibility through dashboards and metrics.
- Educate engineers on accessibility best practices and provide hands-on support.
Qualifications:
- 3+ years in software engineering.
- Strong experience in React and React Native.
- Proficiency in semantic HTML, ARIA, and accessibility tools like Deque aXe.
- Experience with assistive technologies, such as screen readers and voice dictation.
Bonus Skills:
- Experience with blockchain and crypto, Golang, Ruby, Docker, Rails, and security systems.
- Knowledge of financial or high-reliability systems.
Salary: $149,500 CAD (includes target bonus, equity, and benefits).
