The Role:
As Sr. Director, Managing Counsel, you will lead legal support for BNY Investments, specifically for BNY Advisors, Inc., a registered investment adviser providing OCIO/OIO services and customized portfolio management. You’ll oversee a team of attorneys supporting Newton Investment Management, Walter Scott & Partners, and Mellon Investments, contributing to our global investment management efforts.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide legal counsel to BNY Advisors and other affiliated firms.
• Manage regulatory matters, including negotiation and drafting of advisory agreements.
• Collaborate with senior management and Compliance teams.
• Lead discussions on new products and initiatives.
• Oversee cross-border legal issues and strategic programs.

Qualifications:

• JD and license to practice in NY, MA, or PA.
• 12+ years of relevant experience in investment management law.
• Strong leadership and team management skills.
• Expertise in the Investment Advisers Act of 1940 and related regulations.
• Excellent communication, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
