The Role:
We’re seeking a Senior Risk Manager with expertise in credit or market risk across centrally cleared derivatives, secured lending, or prime brokerage. This role combines strategic oversight of Coinbase Bermuda’s risk governance as Chief Risk Officer and hands-on risk management of derivatives offerings. Operating in a fast-paced global digital asset market, you’ll tackle complex credit risks and collaborate with international stakeholders. This position is remote and based in Bermuda.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement risk programs for Coinbase Bermuda, aligning with regulatory guidelines and the Global Risk Framework.
• Provide independent assurance on key business risks, addressing gaps in partnership with internal stakeholders.
• Design and improve risk frameworks for leveraged products, including margin methodologies and risk controls.
• Enhance the risk management framework for exchange and clearinghouse operations.
• Engage in product design to mitigate structural risks.
• Collaborate across teams (product, engineering, operations, legal) to resolve client and product challenges.
• Conduct deep dives on risk events and report findings to senior management.

Requirements:

• 10+ years in risk management within financial institutions or services.
• Expertise in credit/market risk, including margin requirements for derivatives or lending products.
• Experience building and maturing risk programs.
• Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Strategic thinker with a hands-on approach to execution.
• Skilled in analyzing trends and challenging the status quo for better outcomes.

Preferred:

• Knowledge of emerging crypto trends.
