Senior Software Engineer, Backend - Platform

Coinbase is seeking a Senior Backend Engineer to join the Platform Product Group, which builds scalable, trusted systems to enhance efficiency, velocity, and quality. You will work on critical, large-scale crypto products, solving complex technical challenges related to blockchain technology and web-scale applications. The role involves designing and developing backend services using Golang, ensuring system scalability, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to turn technical visions into actionable plans.

Responsibilities:

• Build services to address critical product and business needs using Golang.
• Design scalable systems with modern cloud technologies.
• Maintain and scale backend systems, leading long-term strategy.
• Collaborate with engineers, product managers, and leadership to define roadmaps.
• Write high-quality, well-tested code.

Requirements:

• 5+ years of experience in software engineering.
• Experience building, scaling, and maintaining production services.
• Strong coding skills and attention to quality and testing.
• Passion for creating an open financial system.

Nice to Haves:

• Experience in a rapidly growing company.
• Familiarity with blockchain technologies (e.g., Bitcoin, Ethereum).
• Experience with microservices, A/B testing, or financial systems.
• Knowledge of Golang, Docker, Rails, Postgres, MongoDB, or DynamoDB.

Salary: $185,500 CAD (with target bonus, equity, and benefits)
