Staff Software Engineer, Backend - FinHub

Coinbase is seeking a passionate and driven software engineer to join our Platform Product Group. As a member of the Finhub team, you will develop and architect platforms for financial data, collaborating with engineers, product managers, and senior leadership. You'll drive technical strategies, mentor junior engineers, and write high-quality code. Your work will directly impact the future of Coinbase’s financial infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities:

• Architect and develop financial data platforms
• Define strategic roadmaps and manage project priorities
• Mentor and train team members on design and coding standards
• Collaborate cross-functionally to implement quarterly roadmaps
• Ensure data availability and quality by enforcing SLAs

Requirements:

• 8+ years in software engineering, with 2+ years of experience architecting big data systems (Apache Spark, Hive)
• Experience mentoring junior engineers and fostering high software engineering standards
• Strong background in financial tools (Reconciliation, Ledgers, Balance matching) and integrating with NetSuite APIs
• Experience with banking partner integration and financial data transformation

Nice to Have:

• Experience with Golang, gRPC, Docker, Snowflake, Databricks, and advanced SQL
• Familiarity with finance and accounting teams, performance tuning, and fintech integrations
